Accessibility Features

Everything the widget offers a visitor, grouped by the barrier it addresses. Each control is applied to the live page in the visitor’s own browser and is remembered per domain, so a returning visitor keeps the setup they chose. None of it changes what other visitors see, and none of it modifies your source.

Every control below is on every plan, Free included. The two things that are not are called out where they appear: the Hide Forever button and the accessibility statement link, both from Starter up.

Text and reading

  • Bigger Text - steps the page’s text size up
  • Line Height, Letter Spacing, Word Spacing - stepped, independently of each other
  • Text Align - left, centre or right
  • Readable Fonts - switches to a plainer typeface
  • Dyslexic Font - switches to a typeface designed for dyslexic readers
  • Bionic Reading - bolds the leading part of each word
  • Text Magnifier - shows the text under the cursor, magnified

Colour and contrast

  • Invert Colors - inverting either the whole page or everything except images
  • Brightness and Contrast - sliders
  • Saturation - low, high, or fully desaturated
  • Color Blindness filters - protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia, their -omaly variants, achromatopsia and achromatomaly
  • Text, title and background colours - each set to a colour the visitor picks
  • Highlight Links and Highlight Titles - makes them stand out from the surrounding text

Motor

  • Focus Indicator - a visible ring on whatever the keyboard is on
  • Skip Links - a skip link to the main content, header, footer or home
  • Target Size - pads click targets out to 24px or 44px
  • Virtual Keyboard - an on-screen keyboard
  • Bigger Cursor - two enlarged cursors, light and dark
  • Page Structure - jump to any heading, landmark or link on the page

Focus and distraction

  • Reading Line - a line that follows the cursor
  • Reading Mask - dims everything above and below the cursor
  • Read Mode - click any text to hear it read aloud
  • Pause Animations, Pause Videos, Mute Sounds - separate controls, so a visitor can stop only what bothers them
  • Hide Images - removes images from the page
  • Tooltips - says what a link or control will do, such as opening a new tab or starting a download
  • Image Alt Tooltip - shows an image’s alt text on hover
  • Oversized Widget - enlarges the widget’s own panel

Quick Profiles

One click turns on a group of the controls above. Which of the six a visitor is offered is a per-website setting; leave it empty, which is the default, and all six show.

  • Seizure Safe - pauses animation and video, mutes sound, desaturates and lowers contrast
  • Vision Impaired - larger text, bigger cursor, more line height, raised contrast, visible focus, highlighted headings
  • ADHD Friendly - reading mask and reading line, pauses animation and video, mutes sound, hides images, highlights headings
  • Cognitive Disability - readable font, bionic reading, more line height and letter spacing, reading line, highlighted headings
  • Keyboard Navigation (Motor) - visible focus, highlighted links and headings, a skip-to-content link
  • Blind Users (Screen Reader) - reads the page aloud, visible focus, highlighted links and headings, page structure

Statement link

When a website has a published accessibility statement, the widget’s footer links to it. When it does not, there is no link - the widget never shows a statement Inclusify made up on the site owner’s behalf. Writing and publishing one starts on the Starter plan and is covered under compliance.

Languages

The panel ships with 71 languages. On Free the widget renders in English and the visitor cannot change it. From Starter up you choose the language the panel opens in, and the visitor gets a switcher in the panel header to pick any of the 71 for themselves.

How settings are remembered

Choices are stored in the browser’s local storage against your domain - no account, no cookie banner, no server round-trip. They survive page navigation and return visits, and they are scoped to the one site: a visitor who enlarges text on your store does not change any other site they use.

From Starter up, and only if you switch it on, the panel also offers a Hide Forever button: a visitor who does not want the widget can dismiss it for good, and that choice is remembered in the same place.

What these features do not replace

These controls change presentation. They do not add alt text to images that have none, label unlabelled form fields, give a keyboard path to a control that lacks one, or correct a heading structure used for visual effect. Those are defects in your HTML, and WCAG conformance is assessed against your HTML.
