What do the six accessibility profiles do?
Each profile is a bundle of adjustments for one way of reading: seizure safety, low vision, ADHD, cognitive support, keyboard-only use and screen-reader use. A visitor opens the widget, picks the one that matches, and every setting behind it applies at once. Their choice is kept for the next visit.

Pauses animation and video, mutes sound, and drains the colour out of the page.

A layer over the page cannot reach everything, and some of what it cannot reach needs a change in your own markup. What the widget and the automated scan do not cover is written out on scope and limitations.
We are specific about it because the promise that a widget delivers conformance has been ruled on: in April 2025 the FTC approved a final order requiring accessiBe to pay $1 million over claims that its product could make any website WCAG-compliant. What can you show if a demand letter arrives?
A dated PDF of every audit: what was audited, what was found, what was fixed and when. A demand letter asks what you have done about it, and on Pro and Enterprise the answer is a document you already have rather than a scramble to reconstruct one. Findings map to WCAG 2.1 AA.

How do you install the widget?
One script tag, on any platform that lets you add HTML. It is loaded async and served from the edge, so it is off your critical rendering path and the page paints without waiting for it. On Shopify and Wix there is no line at all: it is an app you install from the platform’s own app store.

Ask one to look at your site and it can run the scan, read the findings back and create the account, over plain HTTP. A six-digit code to your own inbox is what approves it, so nothing exists until you agree to it.
